Molly Joyce MacLean was a devoted Catholic teacher. She was known for her compassion, generosity, kindness, and skill. In 1990, after graduating from John Carroll University, she became a kindergarten teacher at St. Hugo of the Hills School (where she was once a student). She left teaching for a few years to raise her five children with her husband Dan. Then, Mrs. MacLean returned as a 5th grade Religion and Social Studies teacher in 2007. She stayed at St. Hugo’s until illness prevented her from coming back in 2022. In Mrs. MacLean’s memory, the Molly Joyce MacLean (MJM) Foundation is supporting Catholic schools through teacher professional development and student scholarships.
In this first year of the MJM Foundation Scholarship, students who are currently in 7th grade at St Hugo of the Hills School are eligible to apply.
